One or Two Kittens

One of the questions I am often asked is if their new kitten would better adapt if two siblings were adopted at the same time. Although a kitten does adjust perfectly well to being raised alone, they are so much happier when he/she has a buddy. Most especially if it is one of their littermates....they form a bond for life. To watch two bonded cats cuddle together, wash each other and play together is surely a sight to behold. Sometimes it can take my breath away! So, would I recommend two cats? You bet!
Choosing the sex of your kitten should be a choice based on individual preference, not by which sex is better behaved, loving, etc. Each kitten is an individual and has the capability of varying degrees of affection and behavioral issues. The likelihood of either sex marking territory (yes, females mark too) is greatly reduced by having them spayed/neutered at an early age. In my opinion, both males and females are loving, fun and make wonderful companions.....why not have one of each!
